Board of Education Election 2020 & Budget Information

The Annual School Budget Vote/Board of Education Election will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, via an absentee ballot, which will be mailed to all qualified voters of the Potsdam Central School District.
The Potsdam Central School District is drawing the names of the "qualified" voters from the St. Lawrence County Board of Elections registered voter list for the Potsdam Central School District.  If you are not a registered voter with the County, please contact the School District Clerk by Monday, June 1, 2020.

            The attached petitions for candidacy for the Board of Education must be received via email or US Mail to the District Clerk by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2020.  The signature of at least twenty-five (25) eligible voters of the Potsdam Central School District has been waived this year by Governor Cuomo’s Executive Order No. 202.26. 


            A candidate's position on the ballot will be listed alphabetically, per the Executive Order.  


                       EDUCATION LAW REQUIRES THAT ALL CANDIDATES FILE A STATEMENT OF EXPENDITURES FOR ELECTION PURPOSES WITH THE CLERK WITHIN 10 DAYS FOLLOWING THE ELECTION, or a statement that you did not spend in excess of $500 for election purposes.  While we are aware that spending is seldom an issue in Potsdam Central elections, we are required by law to receive these statements, and your cooperation will be greatly appreciated.  Please direct this statement to the School District Clerk, Potsdam Central Schools, 29 Leroy Street, Potsdam, New York 13676 as soon as possible following the vote on June 9, 2020.
