POTSDAM CENTRAL SCHOOL
2023-2024 Food Service Update
July 19, 2023

Dear PCS Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

We are quickly moving towards the start of another school year. With that come all the preparations necessary to make the start of school run smoothly.

Each year at this time we begin the Free and Reduced Meals application process. I have enclosed the application for the Free and Reduced Priced Meals Program for 2023-24. I am asking all parents fill out this form and mail it back as soon as possible or drop it off to either of the building offices or the district office. The completed form can be mailed to: Potsdam Central School, Food Services Department, 29 Leroy Street, Potsdam, NY 13676. Every family should fill out the form and submit it.

1. School Meal Prices

  Grades UPK-8 Grades 9-12
Full Paid Breakfast
$1.50 $1.50
Full Paid Lunch $2.40 $2.50
Milk Prices $ .50 $ .50

2. NUTRIKIDS Computerized Point of Sale (POS) & Prepayment System Point of Sale System

We are use My School Bucks’. All My School Buck online parent accounts are now active and able to use. Students can access their accounts on the PIN pad or swipe card reader located at every register. If you need your child’s ID number please contact the food service office. We encourage parents to prepay money into the student’s account, although students may still pay cash at the register. If your student has qualified for free or reduced price lunches or breakfasts, this information is securely contained within the system and the meal will be processed just as it is for all other students. There is no need to be concerned for a potentially uncomfortable situation for the student.

5. School Breakfast Program
Many studies have shown that eating a nutritious breakfast every morning helps students achieve the classroom goals that have been set for them. These studies consistently confirm that breakfast helps kids concentrate, think, behave, and learn. The Potsdam Central School Food Service department offers breakfast to ALL our students every school day.

Sincerely,
Randy Collins
