We are proud to announce and congratulate the Valedictorian for the Class of 2013, Kate Hildreth.  Kate is the daughter of Joe Hildreth and Caroline Downing, and earned a G.P.A. of 97.99.  She has been a student at Potsdam Central School since kindergarten.

At Potsdam High School, Kate maintains a rigorous course load, challenging herself with advanced classes.  This year, Kate took an economics class at Clarkson and earned a 4.0.  In addition to academics, Kate is deeply involved in extra-curricular activities.  This year she serves as President of National Honor Society, and Vice President of Environmental Club.  Kate is also involved with Potsdam’s Student Council and Key Club.  She is a member of Potsdam’s Science Olympiad team, competing at the state contest three years in a row.

Kate has always been heavily involved in athletics, participating in varsity soccer, basketball, and track.  This year, she served as captain for the varsity basketball and track teams.  Kate also enjoys music, as she plays saxophone for Potsdam’s Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band, and takes private piano lessons.  In the summer, Kate works as a lifeguard for the Potsdam Recreation Department.

Kate has been accepted to SUNY Potsdam, SUNY Binghamton, and Dartmouth College.  She plans to attend Dartmouth College in the fall.

Potsdam is very proud of Kate Hildreth, and wishes her the best.
