Mr. Thomas Hobbs

I am a product of a local public school. That foundation allowed me to continue my education at Alfred University where I was able to obtain an undergraduate degree in Glass Science. I currently work at Corning Incorporated as a project manager.

After spending several years in Corning, my family returned to the North Country in 1999 when we moved to Potsdam. The decision for Potsdam was easy with the reputation of the school system and the availability of programs from the two local universities. My wife, two daughters (Amanda, graduated from Horseheads High School and Grace, Graduated from Potsdam High School in 2009), Thomas a freshmen and Michael is in eighth grade have greatly enjoyed and benefited from living in Potsdam.

I am running for the school board because I believe that public education provides an important foundation for the development of our children. We currently have a strong faculty, administration and educational offering but it is currently being challenged by the current economic times. I would like to be part of the process that helps to steer our school district to continue to offer our children a well rounded education.
