Letter From The Principal

I welcome you to A. A. Kingston Middle School and our school website. I have been honored over the past two decades to serve as an Educator, Coach, Athletic Director, Dean of Students, and Principal in this fine educational community. I also serve the greater Northern Region of the Empire State as a Board member of the NYS Middle Schools Association. A native of the North Country and graduate of Lisbon Central School, I obtained a BA from SUNY Potsdam, completing a middle-level program sponsored by the National Science Foundation. I then completed a MS from SUNY Potsdam and a MA in Educational Leadership from St. Lawrence University. As the leader of A. A. Kingston Middle School, I assure you that our faculty and staff will work diligently to uphold the Mission and Philosophy of our school.
A. A. Kingston Middle School is located in Potsdam, NY. Clarkson University and SUNY Potsdam are also located in Potsdam with both SUNY Canton and St. Lawrence University being a short drive away. These institutions, in conjunction with Potsdam Central Schools, help to shape our community into an educational and cultural focal point for the North Country.
A. A. Kingston Middle School is a grade five through eight school and has a highly motivated and professional staff that work to positively impact the lives of students. We have been named as a High Performing/Gap Closing school multiple times and in 2009 was designated a School to Watch by the NYS Middle Schools Association and the NYS Department of Education. We are proud of this distinction, but realize that the success of any program is not an ending, but rather a chosen pathway.
